How to Get Arceus Plates in HG

"Arceus plates," or simply "plates," are special items introduced in the fourth generation "Diamond," "Pearl," and "Platinum" Pokemon games for the Nintendo DS. When held by a Pokemon, a plate boosts all attacks that match the plate's type. For example, a Pokemon holding a "Draco Plate" will have all of its Dragon-type attacks boosted. When held by the Pokemon Arceus, a plate will change Arceus' type to the plate's type in addition to boosting all attacks of that type. In the "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver" games, players can obtain plates from the captain of the S.S. Aqua.

     Defeat the Elite Four and the Pokemon League Champion. Speak to Professor Elm in New Bark Town to obtain the S.S. Ticket.

     Fly to Olivine City and head south to the docks. Present the S.S. Ticket to the sailor and board the S.S. Aqua.

     Play hide and seek with the captain's daughter, and she will return to the captain's cabin. Talk to the captain to obtain the Flame Plate.

     Ride the S.S. Aqua and talk to the captain 15 more times to obtain the remaining plates.
