How to Get Through a Mount Mortar

Mount Mortar is a cave full of twists and turns and contains several exits in "Pokemon HeartGold" and "Pokemon SoulSilver." This mountain is positioned between Mahogany Town and Ecruteak City on the middle of Route 42. If your goal is to walk from Ecruteak to Mahogany, Mt. Mortar is less daunting than it looks as long as you forgo additional exploration of the cavern. Be ready to brave Mt. Mortar's native Zubat and Rattata population as you walk through its winding grotto.

Instructions

  Enter Mt. Mortar from its left side by leaving Ecruteak City and entering the cave opening on Route 42.

  Walk up the stairs to the north and enter the cave on the raised level on the first floor of Mt. Mortar.

  Hike to the far right upon entering the second floor. Go through the opening leading south.

  Travel down the stairs when you arrive on the first floor of Mt. Mortar and through the exit on the right side of the cave. This exit leads to the right side of Route 42 and onward to Mahogany Town.
