How to Catch Deoxys in Pokemon

The Pokemon Deoxys, the result of a mutated alien virus, can change into three different forms without the process of evolution. Players can obtain this psychic-type Pokemon exclusively through Pokemon events for both Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS "Pokemon" games. The Deoxys given away during events must be faced in battle to be captured. Level your Pokemon party until all members are around Level 50 for the best odds of success.

  Search for Pokemon events through the official Pokemon website's "News and Events" page or view the Serebii website's events database (see References). Players may be able to attend events long-distance through the use of the Nintendo DS Wi-Fi capabilities or they may have to physically attend an event in a store.

  Attend an event. The event listing will indicate which games the event will include. "HeartGold," "SoulSilver," "Diamond," "Platinum" and "Pearl" can be used during events to acquire Deoxys. In the past, "Ruby," "Sapphire," "LeafGreen," "FireRed" and "Emerald" events allowed players to acquire Deoxys. You will be given the "Aurora Ticket" during the event.

  Travel to the port in Vermilion City in your game. This will take you to Birth Island, the Deoxys' home.

  Approach the triangle in the center of the island and examine it. The triangle will move to other parts of the island. The player's goal is to move to the triangle in as few steps as possible and examine it again. If the triangle returns to its original location, you made a mistake and must start again.

  Engage Deoxys in battle when you solve the triangle puzzle on Birth Island. Weaken it and use a Pokeball to capture it. Players may use Ultraballs to increase capture odds.
