How to Catch Combee in Pokemon Platinum

To catch a Combee in the "Pokemon Platinum" game for the Nintendo DS, you will have find some honey to attract the bee-like Pokemon to you. Combees are one of seven species in the game that can only be found in a Sweet Honey Tree that has been baited with honey. Once you set out the honey, you will have to wait at least six hours without saving or turning off the game before a Pokemon will take the bait.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the Valley Windworks power plant off of Route 205, just east of Floaroma Town. Defeat the Team Galactic member who is guarding the front of the power plant.

    • 2

Go to Floaroma Town and walk to the northeast part of the town. You will find a path through the flowers that says "Floaroma Meadow Ahead." Follow the path into the meadow and you will see two Team Galactic members trying to force a man to give them honey.

    • 3

Defeat the two attackers and the man will reward you with 10 items of honey. You can buy more items of honey from the man at any time for 100 gold pieces each.

    • 4

Walk up to the orange-colored Sweet Honey Tree in the meadow. Press the "A" button on your controller to slather honey onto the tree. You may want to save your game at this point.

    • 5

Wait six to12 hours without saving or turning off your game. Return to the Sweet Honey Tree after six hours. If the tree is shaking, you have attracted a wild Pokemon. If the tree is not shaking, you must wait longer. The longest you will have to wait is 12 hours. If you save or turn off the game before the tree starts shaking, the timer will reset to zero and you will have to wait another six to12 hours.

    • 6

Press "A" to initiate battle with the wild Pokemon in the tree and catch it. There is a 20 percent chance the Pokemon will be a Combee. If the Pokemon is not a Combee, reslather the tree with another unit of honey, save your game and wait again.
