How to Get the National Dex in Pokemon SoulSilver

In "Pokemon: SoulSilver" the National Pokedex is an in-game item that allows you to access the Pokemon in previous versions. The National Pokedex is a listing of all Pokemon up to and including "Pokemon: SoulSilver" and "Pokemon: HeartGold." In "SoulSilver," the National Pokedex includes 493 total Pokemon and 17 different types. Once you receive the National Pokedex, you can find and capture previous game Pokemon in your game. You receive the National Pokedex from Professor Oak after you defeat the Elite 4.

Instructions

  Take Victory Road to the Pokemon League. Victory Road is located west of Viridian City and east of Mount Silver.

  Challenge the Elite 4 to battle. The Elite 4 are the toughest bosses in the game, so ensure that your Pokemon are strong enough to win. Your Pokemon should be at least Level 40. Each Elite 4 member has five Pokemon. The Champion has six Pokemon. After you defeat them, the credits will roll and your game is restarted in New Bark Town.

  Go to Professor Elm's lab. He gives you a ticket to the S.S. Aqua.

  Travel to Olivine City and walk toward the port. Professor Oak greets you and gives you the National Pokedex.
