How Do I Catch Lunatone in SoulSilver?

Lunatone, the Meteorite Pokemon, is a rare Pokemon found only in the Mountain area of the Safari Zone in "Pokemon SoulSilver." Located northwest of Cianwood City, the Safari Zone preserves Pokemon in 12 natural habitat areas, much like a zoo. This zoo, however, allows you to take the animals with you, if you can catch them. Some Pokemon in the Safari Zone, including Lunatone, appear only if you place special objects on the ground to lure them out. To acquire the ability to place objects in the Safari Zone, you must complete tests the Safari Zone owner gives you.

Instructions

  1. Unlock Object Arrangement

    • 1

Visit the Safari Zone after receiving the Storm Badge in Cianwood City. A cave above the Cianwood City Gym leads to the park.

    • 2

Talk to Baoba, the elderly Safari Park owner, inside the Safari Park building. He'll give you a test that requires you to bring him a Geodude you caught in the park.

    • 3

Talk to the girl at the desk to pay your entrance fee and enter the park. She'll give you 30 Safari balls to use inside the park to catch Pokemon.

    • 4

Walk around the Peak area until you bump into a Geodude. Toss a Safari ball to catch Geodude and then show him to Baoba. Baoba will give you a second test. This time he wants a Sandshrew.

    • 5

Pay to enter the Safari Zone park again and walk around the Desert area to find a Sandshrew. Catch the Sandshrew and then show it to Baoba.

    • 6

Leave the Safari Zone building and wait for a phone call from Baoba. This takes several days.

    • 7

Answer Baoba's call and return to the Safari Zone to learn about his new idea, Object Arrangement. Baoba gives you the ability to place objects in the different areas inside the Safari zone to attract rare Pokemon. He gives you six objects at a time over the course of several days.

    Catch Lunatone

    • 8

Enter the Safari Zone and walk to the Mountain area when you have received the Small Rock, Big Rock or Mossy Rock object from Baoba. Place 15 rock objects around the Mountain area to lure out Lunatone.

    • 9

Walk around in the grassy sections of the Mountain area to bump into a Lunatone.

    • 10

Toss a Safari ball at Lunatone to catch it. You may need to repeat Steps 2 and 3 many times before Lunatone stays in the ball.
