How to Unlock a Robot on Mario Kart

"Mario Kart DS" was released for the Nintendo DS in 2005. There are 12 characters to select, with four of them being unlocked through the Grand Prix mode. The Grand Prix is a collection of four tracks that you must race back-to-back, with each racer being ranked upon the completion of the tracks. To unlock R.O.B, a robot that was first introduced as an accessory to the NES, you must rank first in all 150cc Mirror Grand Prix cups.

Instructions

  Select "Single Player." Select "Grand Prix."

  Select "150cc Mirror." The 150cc Mirror class is only selectable after you have completed each 150cc Retro Grand Prix Cup in first place.

  Select a character and vehicle.

  Complete each of the Nitro Grand Prix Cups in the 150cc Mirror mode in first place. This includes the Mushroom, Flower, Star and Special Cups. Upon finishing the last cup in first place, R.O.B will be unlocked as a playable character, selectable from the "Select Character" screen.
