How to Get Stars on Hatena

The "Hatena" network offers users of the Flipnote Studio software the opportunity to share their Flipnote projects with others around the globe. The network's star rating system provides an opportunity for members to rate and comment on shared Flipnote projects. If you want your Flipnote project to get more stars from its viewers, ask your viewers to press the "Star" button after viewing your Flipnote. Earning stars on the network will increase your project's ranking. Viewers must be registered users of the Hatena network to give stars to a Flipnote project.

Instructions

  Press the "Power" button on your Nintendo DSi and tap the touch-screen to navigate to the main menu. Side-scroll to the "Flipnote Studio" icon and tap the icon to start the "Flipnote Studio" software.

  Tap on "View Flipnote" and tap "System Memory" on the touch-screen. Tap the Flipnote project that you'd like to get more stars on. Tap the orange "Edit" button. Tap the "Right" arrow button to the last page of the project. Tap the "Right" arrow button one more time to add a new page.

  Write "Like my Flipnote? Give me a star. Thanks!" on the new page. Add animation and sound if you'd like. You can divide the message into several pages to make it more animated and entertaining.

  Tap the "Up" arrow and the orange "Save" button. Tap "System Memory" to save your changes. Tap the "Exit" button on the top of the next screen. Tap the "Back" button and tap the green "Flipnote Hatena" button. Tap "OK" on the next screen to confirm that you are logging onto the "Hatena" network.

  Tap "All Flipnotes" and "Post Here". Select a channel (also known as a category) from the "Channel List" hyperlink. Tap the "Description" button on the next screen and tap "Post". Tap "System Memory" on the next screen and select the edited Flipnote project.

  Tap the "Post" button. Tap the "Agree" button after you read the "Terms of Use" on the screen. Tap the "Lock" or "Don't Lock" button on the next screen. If you choose "Lock" you will disable others from editing your Flipnote project. If you choose "Don't Lock" you will enable others to edit it. Tap "Post" to post the edited Flipnote on the "Hatena" network.
