How to Activate the Pokemon Modifier in Pokemon SoulSilver Version

Pokemon modifiers can be very useful when you desperately need to find a specific Pokemon in "Pokemon SoulSilver." Since there are hundreds of Pokemon from which to choose, it can be difficult to find a particular one. You can instantly battle and attempt to capture the Pokemon you need with a Pokemon modifier though. Once activated with an Action Replay device, which is a third-party peripheral that allows you to use cheat codes in numerous Nintendo DS games, including "Pokemon SoulSilver," you will battle the Pokemon every time. After loading your device with a Pokemon modifier though, you may be confused how to activate the cheat.

  Connect your Action Replay device that has the Pokemon modifier cheat to your Nintendo DS. The device will fit snugly and a visible slot should be left on the device to insert your "Pokemon SoulSilver" card into it. The Pokemon modifier cheat is:

  Replace the three "X" characters in the second to last line with the number of the Pokemon you want to battle. The number of the Pokemon you have encountered are listed in your Pokedex.

  Insert your "Pokemon SoulSilver" card into the Action Replay device.

  Start or load your saved game.

  Enter any area where you can battle a wild Pokemon. These areas include tall grass, the ocean or any caves. Once an encounter with a wild Pokemon is triggered, the cheat will automatically be activated, allowing you to battle the Pokemon.
