Press the "Power" button on the Nintendo DSi device. When the device powers on, tap the bottom screen with the device's stylus.
Side-scroll through the on-screen menu to the "System Settings" icon. Tap the "Wireless Communications" button. Tap the "On" button on the following screen and then tap "OK." Wireless communication is now enabled on the device.
Tap the blue "Right" arrow on the System Settings screen twice. Tap the "Internet" option from the menu on the screen. Type the parental controls PIN if one is required and then tap the "OK" button. Parental restrictions are now temporarily suspended from the device.
Tap the "Connection Settings" button on the next screen. Tap the "Advanced Setup" button at the bottom of the screen and tap one of the "Connection" buttons. Tap the "Manual Setup" button.
Type the router's SSID (network name) into the "SSID" field on the next screen. Then type the blue arrow button. Tap the "Change Security Settings" button on the next screen and then select the security type from the list. Tap "OK" and enter the router's wireless security key in the following screen.
Tap the blue "Right" arrow on the next screen and select "Yes." Then tap the blue "Right" arrow again and select "Yes." Tap the "Save" button at the bottom of the screen. The "Begin connection test" message will appear. Tap the "OK" button to test the new connection. Your router and DSi are now connected.
