How to Trick Swarms in Pokemon

Swarms are a recent addition to the world of Pokemon. A swarm is simply a group of similar Pokemon found in a certain area. When a certain Pokemon is swarming, you have a higher chance of encountering that Pokemon in the wild, as long as you travel to the area in which it has been sighted. Because some Pokemon are nearly impossible to catch if they are not swarming, you may want to manipulate the swarms that appear. You cannot control the specific swam, but if you do not like the current swarm, you can trick your game into choosing another.

Instructions

    • 1

Speak with your Other Rival's sister in Sandgem Town. She will tell you which Pokemon is swarming. If it is not the one you want, turn your Nintendo DS off and remove the game cartridge.

    • 2

Turn the Nintendo DS back on, and it will launch to the home screen.

    • 3

Touch the "Settings" button --- it looks like a small Nintendo DS or a wrench, depending on which version of the DS you own.

    • 4

Tap the calendar icon, then the clock icon on the next screen.

    • 5

Set the time to 11:58 p.m. and save your settings. Turn the Nintendo DS off after saving.

    • 6

Insert your Pokemon game and turn the DS back on. Load your saved file and wait a couple of minutes. When the time rolls over from 12:00 a.m. to 12:01 a.m., the old swarm will expire and a new one will load.

    • 7

Speak with your Other Rival's sister again to find out which swarm has been chosen for the day.
