How to Finish the Pokemon Platinum Pokedex

Finishing the Pokedex in "Pokemon Platinum" can be done without actually catching all of the Pokemon in the game. Merely glimpsing them is enough. This makes the task much harder in some cases because there are certain Pokemon that can only been seen in specific places at specific times of the day. These are the ones that are hardest to find. Completing your Pokedex will require battling every trainer in the game as well as venturing to locations that are not part of the required game quest.

Instructions

  Battle all of the trainers in the "Pokemon Platinum." This will allow you to see the majority of Pokemon in the game.

  Visit the Solaceon Ruins and travel to the very bottom of the caves. Do not use the escape rope to leave or you will miss the Unown (rin the Pokedex). It is not held by any trainer and this is the only location you can find it.

  Go to Mr. Backlot's Mansion on route 212. Examine the book on Mr. Backlot's desk in the main room, where Mr. Backlot is. In the book is a description of Manaphy (Pokemon—). Although you only see a picture and description, this is enough to complete your Pokedex entry.

  Visit the old chateau near the Eterna Forest. Pokemon˜, Rotom, lives in the televisions there. Rotom only appears between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. game time.
