How to Get Celebi on HG

In every generation of Pokemon games, there are a few legendary-type Pokemon that can only be acquired through real-life promotional events. In the "Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver" generation, the most sought-after legendary Pokemon is Celebi. The most common way to acquire legendaries like Celebi is using a cheating device such as the Action Replay DSi. If a player wishes to acquire Celebi legitimately, however, there is no way through gameplay. You either have to import it to "HeartGold" from an earlier version of the game or trade for it.

Instructions

Importing

  Get your Pokedex. Unlike in other Pokemon games, you do not have to jump through any hoops to acquire your Pokedex. It will be given to you almost immediately after you start the main storyline.

  Travel to the east end of Route 221 coming from Sinnoah. This will take you to Pal Park.

  Go to the Lobby in Pal Park.

  Talk to the Park Ranger. He will offer to import Pokemon you've acquired in previous Pokemon games to "HeartGold." If you've acquired Celebi previously, it can be moved over.
Trading

  Unlock the trading option. Climb to the top floor of any Pokemon Center; there's one in every city. The Trainers on the top floor, called the Union Room, will explain how to trade. Once you've gone through their tutorial, trading will be unlocked.

  Travel to Golden Rod City, then go to the Pokemon Center. The Global Trade Station is located in the basement of this particular Pokemon Center and will allow you to trade Pokemon with any "HeartGold" player outside of your country.

  Travel to the basement of any other Pokemon Center to trade locally. The main difference between the local and global markets is that locally you will need the friend code of the person with whom you want to trade Pokemon.

  Bargain for Celebi. Along with Mew and Shaymin, Celebi is one of the most hotly desired Pokemon in the franchise due to its incredible rarity and power. You are not going to get Celebi for anything less than another super rare or legendary-type Pokemon, and you are going to have to sweeten the deal with a large number of rare items.
