How to Get the TM Move Thief on Pokemon SoulSilver

"Pokemon SoulSilver" and "Pokemon HeartGold" have a list of Technical Machines, more commonly known as TMs, that you can teach your Pokemon to help you get to different areas of the game world or achieve certain goals. One of the TMs you can teach your Pokemon is TM 46, also known as Thief. You must find Thief while exploring the the world in "Pokemon SoulSilver."

Instructions

- 1
  Play through the game until you have to got to the Rocket Hideout in Mahogany Town. Go to the shop in Mahogany Town after you have defeated the Red Gyarados in the Lake of Rage. You will find Lance looking for a secret switch to unlock the hidden door to the Rocket Hideout when you arrive. Follow him once he finds it and leaves the area.

  Walk past the statues of Persians and fight the Rocket Grunts. Travel west to find a Rocket Scientist. Fight him and walk up to the PC he was using before the battle. Press "A" at the PC to deactivate the large statues you walked past earlier.

  Backtrack to the area with the Persian statues to find a doorway with stairs leading down to the next level. Fight the Rocket Grunt and go down the stairs to level B2. Speak with Lance to have him heal your Pokemon, then head east until you find the stairs going down to level B3.

  Speak with Lance again on level B3 to get the first half of a password you will need later. Explore the area to find a Rocket Scientist at a large computer. Fight her to get the second half of the password. Head to the northwest to find a set of stairs leading to a different area of level B2. Go up these stairs.

  Use the staircase just south of your position after going back up to B2 to get to a secluded area in B3. Pick up the Pokeball to get TM 46: Thief.
