How to Get 99 Rare Candies in Platinum

In Pokemon Platinum, leveling up a single Pokemon to level 100 by fighting wild Pokemon and trainers can take dozens of hours; it may take more than 200 hours to train a full party of Pokemon to level 100. Fortunately, you can speed up the process by giving your Pokemon rare candies. One rare candy raises the level of a single Pokemon by one. By using rare candies, you can get a Pokemon to level 100 in one hour versus about 36.

Instructions

  Interact with every red Pokeball in the following routes: 214, 216, 218, 223, 225, 228 and 230. Look for rare candies in the following locations: Old Chateau, Wayward Cave, Mt. Coronet, Veilstone City, Victory Road, Survival Area, Stark Mountain and Floaroma Meadow. In each route and location, you should find at least one Pokeball with a rare candy inside.

  Talk to Professor Rowan's assistant at the eastern end of Route 207. After exchanging a few words, the assistant will give you the Dowsing Machine, along with the Vs. Seeker. Use the Dowsing Machine to determine the exact location of any hidden items on the screen. Some rare candies are hidden in the ground, and you will need the Dowsing Machine to find them.

  Use the Dowsing Machine in the following routes, cities and special locations: Route 207, Route 210, Route 212, Route 224, Route 226, Mt. Coronet, Snowpoint City and Victory Road. You will find the rare candy hidden in the ground or in a rock. To uncover the rare candy, press "A" to interact with the area.

  Keep a Pokemon with the Pickup ability, such as Meowth and Pachirisu, in your party. Pokemon with the Pickup ability have a 10% chance of picking up an item after a battle. Train the Pokemon until it is level 21, which will make it possible for the Pokemon to pick up a rare candy.

  Head south of Hearthrome City to the mansion that has a trophy garden. Accept the maid's challenge and defeat the first woman's Pokemon. Use thief on the second woman's Pokemon to get a rare candy. You can use this method to get one rare candy every 24 hours.
