How to Cut Long Grass in The Sims Castaway for DS

To survive your experience on a remote island in "The Sims 2: Castaway" for the Nintendo DS, you must gather the necessary materials, such as long grass. Collecting long grass is required to complete game quests, such as gathering materials for Suzy McDress, and is a necessary item in creating island clothing like a grass skirt. To cut down long grass you need a knife, but to get a knife you must first perform a task for the island's Chef.

  Obtain the ingredients needed for the first Chef's recipe -- sardines and limes.

  Catch sardines by using your spear in the ocean.

  Obtain limes by planting a lime seed and growing a lime tree. Talk to Ms. Weeder to get a lime seed. You must plant the lime seed using a shovel and water it for several days. Once the limes have grown, click the lime tree to harvest them.

  Return to the chef and swap the sardines and limes for a knife.

  Cut down long grass using the knife. With the knife equipped, click on a patch of long grass and choose the "Cut" option to do this.
