How Do I Get a Slowking in SoulSilver?

In the Pokemon series, Slowking is the final evolution of Slowpoke, a slow-witted Psychic- and Water-type Pokemon. Although Slowking has several elemental weaknesses, it is partially resistant to Fighting, Steel, Fire, Water, Psychic and Ice-type attacks. In addition, the Pokemon wields high special defense and special attack abilities. To obtain a Slowking in "Pokemon SoulSilver," you will need to capture a Slowpoke and equip it with a King's Rock item. Once you trade the Slowpoke to a different game, it will evolve into its final form.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to the Slowpoke Well, which is a cave located east of Azalea Town.

    • 2

Walk around the well until you encounter a Slowpoke. Slowpoke's encounter rate is 15 percent, so expect to find several of them throughout your exploration of the well.

    • 3

During battle, lower Slowpoke's health with attacks and then capture it with a Pokeball.

    • 4

Walk towards the northwest corner of the cave. You will find a boulder blocking your path, but you can move it with the Strength ability.

    • 5

From the boulder, follow the path south until you find a body of water.

    • 6

Use the Surf ability to cross the water and reach the next platform. Step onto the platform and descend the ladder.

    • 7

In the basement, use Surf to reach the man in the northwest corner of the room. When you talk to him, he will give you a King's Rock.

    • 8

Equip Slowpoke with the King's Rock item.

    • 9

Exit the cave and go to the nearest Pokemon Center.

    • 10

Use the Pokemon Center's trade service to trade Slowpoke and the King's Rock to another Pokemon game. After the trade, Slowpoke will evolve into Slowking.

    • 11

Trade Slowking back to the original "SoulSilver" game.
