How to Get Ice Cubes on Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Once you reach the Fire Realm in "The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks," you need someone to supply you with massive ice cubes called Mega Ice. It is the only substance cold enough to cool the fires and rivers of lava that block your path through the Fire Realm. A small village in the Snow Realm that is famous throughout Hyrule will produce Mega Ice for you for a small fee.

Instructions

  Go to the Snow Realm any time after you have acquired the Fire Rail Map. Use the train to get to the realm and then travel to the easternmost point in the area, near Whittleton. Go to Anouki Village and speak with the Anouki standing near the well in the western part of the village. He explains that the water the village uses for making Mega Ice is tainted and asks you to escort him to a place with clean water. Agree to help him.

  Get back to the train and take the Anouki to the Wellspring Station. Speak with the Anouki after you arrive at the station, and he will give you a Force Gem as thanks. You can use it to unlock the train tracks south of Wellspring Station, which provides access to a new part of the Forest Realm. Leave the Anouki to his ice-making and continue with the main quest.

  Travel to the Fire Realm from Wellspring Station and explore the Goron Village, the first area you encounter once you enter the Fire Realm. Head north of the village and speak with Kagoron. Follow his instructions and meet him back at the Goron Village, where he tells you that you need Mega Ice to proceed through the Fire Realm. He gives you a freight car to use for hauling large items.

  Return to Anouki at the Wellspring Station and speak with him about getting a piece of Mega Ice. Pay the price he asks or negotiate the price until you get it for free. Because you will need to return for more pieces of ice later on, and you will not be able to get those pieces for free, take advantage of the special offer at this stage.
