How to Activate the Wild Pokemon Modifier

The goal of every Pokemon game is to "catch 'em all," but this is a hard goal to accomplish; although you can encounter and capture the majority of Pokemon as wild Pokemon, there are some you can only obtain by completing obscure processes or attending special events that happened in the past. However, you can get these Pokemon by using the Wild Pokemon Modifier, which is available through the Action Replay DSi cheating device; with the Wild Pokemon Modifier, you can make any Pokemon attack you as a wild Pokemon and be available for capture.

  Look up the National Pokedex number of the Pokemon you want to acquire. You can do this in-game by gaining the National Pokedex (the method of which varies game by game) or by looking up the Pokemon's number online.

  Hold down the "L" and "R" buttons on your Nintendo DS.

  Open your inventory and find the large number of Master Balls that have been deposited into your inventory.

  Discard the Master Balls until the number of them remaining equals the National Pokedex number of the Pokemon you wish to capture.

  Exit your inventory.

  Hold down the "L" button. The Pokemon you want to get will attack you as a wild Pokemon.
