How to Get Through All of the Kanto Region in Pokemon SoulSilver?

The Kanto region is the second of "Pokemon SoulSilver's" two explorable regions. The Kanto region features towns, dungeons, gym leaders and Pokemon originally featured in the first Pokemon games for the Gameboy. Unlike the game's other region, Johto, you are free to travel around the Kanto region as you wish. You can spend your time catching new Pokemon or exploring new dungeons and completing side-quests. If you want to get through the Kanto region and end the game, there are a few tips you should know.

Instructions

    • 1

Complete the Johto portion of "Pokemon SoulSilver" first. This includes collecting all eight of the region's badges and defeating the five trainers in the Pokemon League. Once you have beaten all of the Pokemon League's trainers, you will be given a ticket to board the S.S. Aqua which takes you to the Kanto region.

    • 2

Prepare yourself to travel a lot. The Kanto region has 28 routes to travel connecting the regions 10 towns and 10 dungeons. If you want to discover all the Kanto region has to offer you will have to spend a lot of time riding your bike and walking through the various dungeons and towns.

    • 3

Purchase a large supply of Pokeballs. There are many new Pokemon to capture that can only be found in the fields and dungeons of the Kanto region. The Pal Park in Fuschia City is a Pokemon preserve that features many rare Pokemon found nowhere else in "Pokemon SoulSilver."

    • 4

Ready yourself to face the Kanto region's gym leaders. There are eight new gyms in Kanto, with each gym leader having a team comprised of Pokemon level 50 and higher. Gym leaders in Kanto specialize in nearly all types of Pokemon so you will need to have a balanced and high-level team in order to collect all eight badges.

    • 5

Defeat the Elite Four again. The Elite Four's Pokemon are at a higher level after you defeat all eight of the Kanto region's gym leaders. In addition to their higher levels, each member of the Elite Four now uses six Pokemon instead of five.

    • 6

Travel to Mt. Silver located to the west of Viridian City along Route 28 and fight Red. Red is the last boss in "Pokemon SoulSilver." He has a high-level team consisting of varying types of Pokemon each level 80 and above.
