How to Replace Hidden Moves on Pokémon SoulSilver

In "Pokémon SoulSilver," as in previous "Pokémon" games, Pokémon can learn moves from Hidden Machines (HMs), which you can then replace by forcing the Pokémon to forget the moves. By replacing them, you can erase moves that are no longer useful to you and thereby free up room to learn new moves. To replace HM moves, you must go to the Move Deleter, who is located in Blackthorn City.

Instructions

  Travel to Blackthorn City, which is marked on your in-game map. You will be unable to travel to the city until the game naturally takes you there.

  Travel to the tree house, which is located near the bottom part of the city. This is the only building of its kind and cannot be missed; the sign next to it states, "Move Deleter and Move Tutor House." Inside, you will encounter three characters: the Move Tutor, the Move Relearner and the Move Deleter.

  Walk up to the Move Deleter, who is a balding old man and is the first person on the left. Press "A" while standing beside him to initiate a conversation. He will ask you if you want to make your Pokémon forget any moves.

  Highlight one of the Pokémon listed. Press "A" to select it and to open the list of moves the active Pokémon knows.

  Highlight the HM you want the Pokémon to forget. Press "A" to select the move for deletion. Select "Yes" when asked to confirm the move, and the HM will be removed.
