How to Get Quagsire in SoulSilver

If you want a water type Pokemon early on in SoulSilver, you should catch a Wooper, which evolves into a Quagsire. In SoulSilver, a Quagsire learns many powerful Water type moves, such as Surf. Not only can this Pokemon learn water type moves, but he also learns ground type moves like Mud Shot and Earthquake.

  Go to a PokeMart, found in most cities, or the MegaMart in Goldenrod City. Buy 10 to 20 Ultra Balls that cost 1,200 Pokemon dollars. Purchase 10 to 20 Great Balls instead if you do not have enough for Ultra Balls.

  Head to a Pokemon Center and heal your Pokemon. Use your PC and take out Pokemon that know any status-inducing moves, such as Sleep or Body Slam. Avoid taking Pokemon with moves that poison the opponent. Bring Pokemon that are level five to nine.

  Walk, run or fly to Route 32 at night. Tramp through the grass and flee from or battle all wild Pokemon. Once you see a Wooper, whittle its health down to the red zone. Use a status-inflicting move like Sleep, which will make the Wooper easier to catch. Throw Great or Ultra Balls to catch the Wooper.

  Train the Wooper by fighting wild Pokemon and trainers. Give it a Lucky Egg and feed it rare candies to make it level up faster. Once the Whooper reaches level 20, he evolves into a Quagsire.
