How to Erase Files in Pokemon HeartGold

The Nintendo DS game "Pokemon HeartGold" is an updated version of "Pokemon Gold," a game which first appeared on the Gameboy Color 10 years ago. In the game, you travel the world battling trainers, collecting gym badges and capturing new Pokemon. "Pokemon HeartGold" saves data directly to the cartridge and can only hold one save at a time. If you ever want to start your Pokemon adventure over, you will have to delete your saved game file.

Instructions

  Start your Nintendo DS with "Pokemon HeartGold" inserted in it.

  Wait for the game to load up the title screen.

  Press the "Select" button, the "B" button and the "Up" button on the directional pad at the same time. If done correctly you will navigate away from the title screen and be taken to a new blue screen.

  Answer "Yes" to all of the questions to delete your save files. When you delete your saved game you will lose all of your current progress along with your current Pokewalker data. After you delete your save file, the game will restart, taking you back to the title screen.
