List of the Moves That Zapdos Learns in Pokemon LeafGreen

A legendary-type Pokemon, Zapdos is a golden bird with electric attacks. In the game world, Zapdos is said to cause the violent summer storms with the flapping of its wings. In "Pokemon LeafGreen," the enhanced remake of "Pokemon Blue," Zapdos can learn nine different moves depending on the amount of experience it gains in battle. These moves are based on its flying agility, large beak and natural affinity for thunder and lightning.
  1. Peck

    • At Level 1, Zapdos has the ability to attack its opponents by pecking them to death with its large beak. Because this is a direct-contact attack, an opponent who uses Protect or Detect can cause the attack to fail. It has a 100 percent accuracy rating.

    ThunderShock

    • When Zapdos flaps its wings, it can send a shockwave of electricity over its opponent. Along with Peck, ThunderShock is one of Zapdos's basic, Level 1 abilities. It can also be deflected by Protect or Detect, and it has an accuracy of 100 percent.

    ThunderWave

    • ThunderWave is an improved version of ThunderShock. While it does less direct damage, ThunderWave will Paralyze an opponent for several turns depending on the opponent's level and immunities. Some Pokemon are naturally immune to all Paralyzing attacks. ThunderWave has 100 percent accuracy.

    Agility

    • Agility is an ability that Zapdos gains at Level 25. This ability has a more passive effect. Rather than attacking an opponent, it raises Zapdos' speed by two stages, which causes it to attack more often and to dodge incoming attacks more easily.

    Detect

    • At Level 37, Zapdos learns the Detect ability. By watching its opponents closely, Zapdos can detect the attacks they are going to employ and avoid them. Detect has a high rate of success against lower-level attacks.

    Drill Peck

    • When it reaches Level 49, Zapdos is able to use its Drill Peck attack. Drill Peck is a vastly improved version of Zapdos' basic Peck move. It has a 100 percent accuracy rating and can be deflected by an opponent using Protect or Detect.

    Charge

    • Charge is a Level 61 ability. Charge is not an attack, but a passive power boost. When using Charge, any electric attack used by Zapdos will double in strength and duration.

    Light Screen

    • At Level 73, Zapdos gains the Light Screen ability. Using Light Screen causes Zapdos to emit an intense burst of light that disorientates its opponents for five rounds. Any attack used during this cycle will have its effectiveness reduced by half.

    Thunder

    • Thunder is Zapdos' ultimate attack. It gains the use of this ability at Level 83. Thunder is a powerful electric attack that deals massive damage and may paralyze an opponent.
