How to Catch a Chocobo in Final Fantasy Tactics A2

"Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire of the Rift" for the Nintendo DS is a direct sequel to the original "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance," a turn-based tactical role-playing game. Chocobos, yellow flightless birds, are recurring characters in the Final Fantasy series and can be captured and ridden as mounts in "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire of the Rift." Chocobos have special abilities that can be used in battle, but only certain character classes can ride chocobo mounts.

  Find a chocobo. Because chocobos appear as random encounters throughout the game world, it may take a few tries to locate one. The type of chocobo you encounter is determined by the area and time of year.

  Battle the chocobo with a Moogle Chocobo Knight in your party. The Chocobo Knight job can be learned from Popocho in the Aldanna Range after completing the "Popocho's Chocobos" quest line.

  Move your Chocobo Knight to a square adjacent to the chocobo when the chocobo has low health. Do not use any attacks that will afflict the chocobo with a status effect. When the chocobo reaches critical health, the "mount" command will appear in your action menu. Select it and your Chocobo Knight will mount the chocobo.
