How to Put Down Objects in the Safari Zone in Pokemon Heart Gold

In "Pokemon HeartGold," the Safari Zone from previous games makes its return, allowing players to catch rare and highly-sought after Pokemon from a variety of regions. This time, though, the Safari Zone is somewhat different due to the addition of special objects. Objects are used in various areas throughout the Safari Zone to draw reluctant Pokemon out of hiding. They are given to you by the Safari Zone warden, Baoba. Before you are allowed to use objects, you need to help the warden complete a task.

Instructions

    • 1

Complete Baoba's first task that he assigns to you, which is to capture a Geodude. Enter the first area of the Safari Zone and walk around in the grass until a Geodude appears.

    • 2

Throw Safari Balls at the Geodude to capture it. Put the Geodude in the first position of your team. Return to Baoba to complete the task. Leave the Safari Zone.

    • 3

Wait for three in-game hours. At this time, Baoba calls you, giving you the next task. Return to the Safari Zone entrance.

    • 4

Walk up to the Safari Zone computer and tap the "Desert" panel. Tap the "Plains" panel to swap the two. Pass through the gate into the park to go to the Desert area automatically.

    • 5

Walk through the patches of grass in the Desert area until a Sandshrew appears. Capture it with your Safari Balls. When you do, put it in the first team position, and then talk to Baoba to end the task. You are now allowed to place objects in the park.

Press the "A" button anywhere you want to place an object. Select an object from the screen that appears to put the object in that spot.
