How to Delete a Profile on Pokemon HeartGold

In 2009, "Pokemon HeartGold" was released in Japan, reaching North American waters the following year. Like previous handheld games by Nintendo, players save a single game on the cartridge, requiring that you delete the profile before you create a new one. New players may be confused about deleting profiles, namely because the menu never shows an obvious option to perform the action.

     Turn on your Nintendo DS.

     Load "Pokemon HeartGold" until you see the Ho-Oh flying in the background.

     Press "Up," "Select" and "B" at the same time.

     Release the buttons when prompted to delete your data.

     Select "OK."
