How to Find Manaphy in Pokemon Diamond

A water-type Pokemon, Manaphy is described in the "Pokemon Diamond" Pokedex as a creature that will swim far to return to its birthplace on the sea floor. It also has the "Hydration" ability, which enables Manaphy to heal its status conditions when it is raining. Manaphy does not evolve into any other Pokemon and it cannot be found in the wild. However, it is a special-event Pokemon that can be transferred to "Pokemon Diamond."

Instructions

  Enlist the assistance of a friend. You will need a copy of "Pokemon Ranger" and "Pokemon Diamond" to complete this mission. You must first complete the main storyline of "Pokemon Ranger" to unlock the Ranger Net feature. Two Nintendo DS systems are required to obtain Manaphy.

  Open Ranger Net from the main menu of "Pokemon Ranger." Simultaneously press the "R," "X" and "Left" buttons. Tap the Nintendo DS screen twice using the stylus pen. This will open a screen that reads, "Enter the password."

  Type "P8M2--9D6F--43H7" into the field. You will be informed that you have unlocked the mission, "Recover the Precious Egg." Turn off the Nintendo DS and turn it on again.

  Select Ranger Net from the "Pokemon Ranger" main menu again. Select "Play a special mission" and then "Recover the Precious Egg." Explore Lyra Forest, where the mission automatically begins. Approach Pokemon you wish to use in your party.

  Weaken the Pokemon with attacks and then use the stylus pen to draw loops around the desired Pokemon. A number will appear above the Pokemon's head, indicating how many loops must be drawn for a successful capture. Use this process to capture and defeat Pokemon.

  Enter Krokka Tunnel and follow the Go-Rock Squad members as they try to flee. You will attack members of the Go-Rock Squad as you continue to follow the path. Eventually, the last Go-Rock Squad member will use a Venusaur and two Scythers. Defeat these Pokemon.

  Speak to your ally, Gordor, to learn that he has captured the Manaphy egg from the Go-Rock Squad. Return to your base in-game and speak to the Professor. He will hold the Manaphy egg until it is transferred to "Pokemon Diamond."

  Select "Ranger Net" and then "Check Egg" from the main menu on "Pokemon Ranger." Tap the screen using the stylus pen and select"Send." Turn on "Pokemon Diamond" on the second Nintendo DS.

  Select "Start" on the screen for "Pokemon Diamond." Follow the on-screen instructions. On "Pokemon Ranger," select the "Transfer" option when it appears to send the Manaphy egg to "Pokemon Diamond."

  Open your game file on "Pokemon Diamond" to play. You should have at least one slot open in your Pokemon party. Travel to any PokeMart and speak to the man in green to receive the Manaphy egg.

  Complete a total of 2,560 steps outside of the PokeMart. Return to the PokeMart. You will be informed that your Manaphy egg has hatched. You will receive a level-one Manaphy.
