How to Get a Ninetales in SoulSilver

Ninetales, the evolved form of Vulpix, is available only through evolution in "Pokemon SoulSilver." Vulpix and Ninetales are both Fire-type Pokemon, making both strong against Grass-, Bug- and Ice-type Pokemon --- though they will be easily defeating by Ground-, Rock- and Water-type Pokemon. Vulpix can be caught early in the game, making Ninetales a suitable Fire-type Pokemon for a new trainer. Evolving Vulpix into Ninetales, however, requires a special item.

Instructions

  Travel to Route 7, 8, 36 or 37.

  Walk in the tall grass until you are attacked by Vulpix.

  Use a combination of attack moves, status-changing moves and your strongest Pokeball to capture a Vulpix. Do not use any Water-type Pokemon against him, as there is a chance you could do too much damage to him and defeat him without capturing him.

  Receive a Fire Stone as a prize from the Bug Catching Contest or the Pokeathlon, or from Bill's grandfather.

  Tap "Bag" on the bottom screen of your Nintendo DS.

  Tap "Fire Stone" in the "Items" slot.

  Tap "Use" and select Vulpix. He will now evolve into Ninetales.
