How to Catch Ho-Oh in Pokemon Soul Silver

Ho-Oh is a Fire- and Flying-type legendary Pokemon introduced in the second generation "Pokemon Gold," "Pokemon Silver" and "Pokemon Crystal" games. It is the mascot of "Pokemon Gold" and "Pokemon HeartGold," and the counterpart to Lugia. In battle, Ho-Oh can demolish unprepared teams with powerful attacks such as Sacred Fire, Brave Bird and Earthquake, and can recover its health with Recover or Roost. In "Pokemon SoulSilver" for the Nintendo DS, players can catch Ho-Oh after obtaining a special item in Pewter City.

Instructions

  Defeat the Elite Four and the Pokemon League Champion. Head east from New Bark Town and pass through Tohjo Falls to enter Kanto.

  Make your way from town to town until you reach Pewter City. Talk to the man standing next to the PokeMart, and he will give you a Rainbow Wing.

  Return to Johto and fly to Ecruteak City. Head north and present the Rainbow Wing to the monk to persuade him to let you pass. Follow the path to reach the Bell Tower.

  Climb to the tower's top floor and save the game. Engage Ho-Oh in battle and lower its HP into the red zone. Inflict Ho-Oh with either Paralysis or Sleep, and throw Ultra Balls at it until it is caught.
