How to Get Larvitar in SoulSilver

Larvitar is a Rock- and Ground-type Pokemon introduced in the second generation "Gold," "Silver" and "Crystal" games for the Game Boy Color. In the fourth generation, Larvitar is one of five "base forms" of a "pseudo-legendary" Pokemon, the others being Dratini, Bagon, Beldum and Gible. Larvitar evolves into Pupitar at level 30 and into Tyranitar at level 55, swapping its Ground-type for a Dark-type, and acquiring the "Sand Stream" ability in the process. In "SoulSilver," players can find Larvitar on Mt. Silver near the end of the game.

     Obtain all 16 badges and fly to Pallet Town. Enter the Pokemon Laboratory and talk to Professor Oak to obtain HM08 (Rock Climb) and unlock the path to Mt. Silver.

     Fly to Viridian City and take the west exit. Follow the path west to reach Mt. Silver.

     Equip the Bicycle and ride around in the grass until Larvitar appears. Weaken Larvitar in battle and throw Ultra Balls at it until it is caught.
