How to Finish the Pokedex in Emerald

Like most Pokemon role-playing games, the "Pokemon Emerald" version is no different when it comes to the gameplay. Players must travel through the world of Pokemon, battle trainers and gym leaders and train Pokemon in hopes of becoming a Pokemon champion. Using the Hoeen Pokedex, you can track the 200 types of Pokemon in the Hoenn region, as well as which ones you catch. In order to obtain all 200 Pokemon and finish the Pokedex, you must catch all the Pokemon in the "Pokemon Emerald" version as well as transfer several creatures that can only be caught in the "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Sapphire" versions.

  Explore through each town, route, cave and river thoroughly for missing Pokemon. If missing a few Pokemon to complete your Pokedex, consult a Pokemon guide to find the location of the remaining creatures. If you once saw a Pokemon but failed to capture, the creature's location still appears on your Pokedex.

  Trade and import other Pokemon with the other versions in the series: "Pokemon Sapphire" and "Pokemon Ruby." Some Pokemon can only be caught in the other versions, such as Zangoose, Masquerain, Lunatone, Meditite, Medicham, Surskit and Rosealia. You will need two Nintendo DS or DSi consoles and a DS cable to link the two consoles together. The Pokemon trade center is located on the second floor of each town's Pokemon Center.

  Find and capture the legendary monsters of the "Pokemon Emerald" game. The two legendary Pokemon that reside in the "Emerald" version is Kyogre and Groudon, who can only be caught after defeating the Elite Four. You will need to travel to the land lair to capture Groudon and the land lair to capture Kyogre.
