What Are Darkrai's Moves When You Catch Him?

Darkrai is a legendary Pokemon first released in February 2007. It was not available in games prior to generation IV. It is only available in "Pokemon Diamond," "Pokemon Pearl" and "Pokemon Platinum." Any other versions require you to trade to obtain it. Darkrai is a genderless Pokemon with a very low catch rate: less than 1 percent when using a regular pokeball. Darkrai starts with two moves, but it can learn 10 others as you level up.
  1. Ominous Wind

    • Ominous Wind is one of Darkrai's starting moves. It is a ghost-type attack that causes base damage and also has a chance of boosting other stats by 10 percent. It is not a physical attack that makes contact. It needs from 5 to 8 power points to work and is 100 percent accurate, always hitting the enemy.

    Night Shade

    • Darkrai's first starting move in "Diamond" and "Pearl" is Night Shade, instead of Ominous Wind. It costs 15 power points and has a base power of 1. It is a ghost type move and is 100 percent accurate. In battle, it makes your opponent see a mirage, which attacks equal to their level.

    Disable

    • Disable is Darkrai's second available start move is. First introduced in generation I, it is a nondamaging, normal type move. It has an accuracy of 100 percent. It disables a random move from your opponents move set from one to eight turns. Using disable against a Pokemon with Rage equipped will cause its rage to rise. It requires 20 power points to use.

    Other Moves

    • Darkrai learns his other moves by leveling up, with different moves available at different levels. The majority of his new attacks are dark type, including Pursuit, Dark Void, Embargo and Dark Pulse. It also learns the normal type attacks of Quick Attack and Double Team.
