How to Turn Off Pokewalker

Pokewalker is an accessory to the Pokemon SoulSilver and HeartGold games that allow players to carry around their favorite Pokemon character wherever they go. Player can use infrared ports to download a Pokemon from their Nintendo DS system to the small, round Pokewalker devive. The built-in pedometer counts a players steps as they walk around, giving them experience points and unlocking game features as they walk a certain distances. The device has no on/off button, so players must either use the sleep mode or remove the battery to turn it off.

  Stop pushing the Pokewalker button for 60 to 90 seconds to activate sleep mode. Sleep mode turns off the display and sounds, but the device will continue counting steps. To turn it completely off, you have to remove the battery.

  Return your Pokemon from the Pokewalker to the DS system using the infrared ports before removing the battery.

  Remove the screw on the back of the Pokewalker with a small Phillips screwdriver, then remove the back cover.

  Take out the round silver battery to turn off the Pokewalker.

  Return the battery to reactivate the Pokewalker. Make sure you properly align the moisture-resistant seal around the battery when you put it back in. Once the battery is back in, your Pokewalker will automatically reset its clock during the first communication with your DS system.i
