How to Evolve Mantyke in SoulSilver

Mantyke is a water and flying-type baby Pokemon that first appeared in the fourth generation of Pokemon. Its higher evolutionary form is Mantine, which has the highest special defense stat of all water-type Pokemon. Mantine's image features a Remoraid clinging to one of its wings. Mantyke only evolves into Mantine when a Remoraid is in the player's party. In "Pokemon SoulSilver," Remoraid can only be found in daily Pokemon swarms.

  Obtain the National Pokedex by encountering every native Pokemon of the Johto region.

  Open the radio channel of the Pokegear.

  Set the frequency to channel 4.5. This channel is "Professor Oak's Pokemon Talk."

  Listen to the broadcast to find out which Pokemon is swarming. If the Pokemon is not Remoraid, wait until the next day.

  Fly to Mahogany Town. Walk east out of town to Route 44.

  Fish in the water located on the route until Remoraid appears. Catch and keep in your party.
- 7
  Level up Mantyke, which automatically evolves into Mantine after reaching a new level.
