How to Catch All Legendaries in Soul Silver

"Pokemon SoulSilver" is an enhanced remake of the classic 1999 Pokemon video game. The aim of the game is to catch wild Pokemon, train them and battle them. Legendary Pokemon are stronger than normal Pokemon but they also require special circumstances to appear. Unlike the original game, "Pokemon SoulSilver" offers a whole range of legendary Pokemon for you to catch, with a total of 17 legendary Pokemon making an appearance. By following a few simple steps, you can catch all the legendary Pokemon in "SoulSilver."

Instructions

    • 1

Head to the Seafoam Islands once you have won all 16 gym badges. Work your way through the cave using Strength to move boulders out of your path and defeating any trainers along the way. Once you have reached the end of the cave, exit and you will face the first legendary bird, Articuno. Battle Articuno and once you have weakened it, use a Dusk Ball to catch it.

    • 2

Defeat Blue at Viridian Gym to earn the earth badge. Once you have the earth badge, head to the Power Plant on Route 10. You will see the second legendary bird, Zapdos, out in the open with no obstacles in the way. Battle Zapdos until you get its HP as low as you can, then use a Dusk Ball to capture it.

    • 3

Head to Mt. Silver once you have been granted access by Professor Oak. Enter Mt. Silver Cave, then use Surf and Rock Climb to work your way through the cave. When you exit the cave at the other side, you will be faced with the final legendary bird, Moltres. Battle Moltres, then once you have weakened it, use a Dusk Ball to catch it.

    • 4

Enter Cerulean Cave on Route 24. Use a combination of Surf, Strength, Rock Climb and Rock Smash to work your way through the cave. The cave is dark so you should use Flash to help you see better. Once you have reached the final set of ladders, climb them and you will be faced with the legendary Pokemon Mewtwo. Battle Mewtwo and reduce its HP, then keep throwing Dusk Balls until it is caught.

    • 5

Complete the Burned Tower and the three Legendary dogs Raikou, Entei and Suicune will scatter across the region. They will appear randomly or you can use your PokeGear to find their current location. When they appear, lower their HP as much as you can. If they run, then the damage you cause will remain with them when they next appear. Eventually you will have weakened them enough to use a Fast Ball to catch them.

    • 6

Receive the Silver Wing from the man in Pewter City, then head to the Whirl Islands. Work your way through the simple cave, then you will see a short cut scene before the legendary Pokemon Lugia appears. You can either lower Lugia's HP and then use the Dusk Ball technique, or just use the Master Ball to catch it easily.

    • 7

Access the Bell Tower in Ecruteak City and follow the ramps upward until you reach the top. Here you will be faced with the legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh. Lower its HP to as close to one as possible, then use a status attack such as Sleep to increase your chances of capture. Use Dusk Balls or your Master ball to catch Ho-Oh.

    • 8

Use your PokeGear to track the location of the Legendary Pokemon Latias. When it appears, apply the same tactic you used with the legendary dogs and you will catch it eventually. Use the Enigma stone to trigger the event for the opposite Pokemon, Latios, before repeating the catching process.

    • 9

Head to the Embedded Tower on Route 47 once you have defeated Red at the top of Mt. Silver. Work your way through the cave defeating the Hikers along the way. When you reach the top, you will be faced with the legendary Pokemon Groudon. Weaken Groudon's HP, then keep using Dusk Balls until you catch it.

    • 10

Trade in Kyogre from "Pokemon HeartRed," then return to Mt. Silver where you caught Groudon. This time you will face the legendary Pokemon Rayquaza. Repeat the Dusk Ball and weakening technique until you catch it.

    • 11

Trade in Arceus from "Pokemon Diamond," "Pearl" or "Platinum" and set it as your partner Pokemon so that it follows you. Enter the building with the scientists and this will trigger an event that will take you to the Sinjoh Ruins. Deposit all your Pokemon except Arceus into the PC here before talking to Cynthia. You will be led to three panels; choose the top panel for the legendary Pokemon Girantia, the left for Dialga or the right for Palkia.
