How to Catch a Darkrai in Soul Silver

Once released in Japan in 2009 and other regions in 2010, "Pokemon Soul Silver" is a remake of "Pokemon Silver" released for the Nintendo DS. As with other Pokemon games, "Soul Silver" pairs with "Heart Gold," allowing players to trade Pokemon between the two games via the DS Wi-Fi feature. The two following Pokemon releases, "Diamond" and "Pearl," also allow trades with "Soul Silver" and "Heart Gold." The shadowy Pokemon Darkrai is alone available on "Soul Silver" by trading him from one of these later games.

2 Nintendo DS game systems
Copy of "Pokemon Soul Silver"
Copy of either "Pokemon Diamond" or "Pokemon Pearl

Instructions

  Begin playing "Pokemon Diamond" or "Pokemon Pearl" on one of the Nintendo DS game systems.

  Capture Darkrai on the copy of either "Diamond" or "Pearl." In order to capture Darkrai have the character wake up in the morning and fly to Canalava City. Visit the Harbor Inn next to the Pokemon Center. Talk with the man's son inside and then go to man who took your character to Iron Island. Speak with him to travel to NewMoon Island, where you encounter a level 40 Darkrai. Be careful as he is very powerful. Capture him using any pokeball.

  Save the game once Darkrai is captured.

  Begin playing "Pokemon Soul Silver" on the other DS game system.

  Make sure Wi-Fi is connected on both of the DS systems.

  Move both the "Diamond/Pearl" character and the "Soul Silver" character to the Pokemon Center in each game.

  Go to the upstairs of the Center on both games and enter the middle door.

  Speak to one of your characters with the others and select trade.

  Trade Darkrai from the "Diamond/Pearl" character to the "Soul Silver" one. Confirm the trade and save the "Soul Silver" game. Darkrai is now available to the "Soul Silver" character.
