How to Get a Fish Fossil in Harvest Moon Island of Happiness

In "Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness," you're able to select crops and animals, then build your ideal farm. You won't spend your entire life on the farm, though. At times, you'll need to go out foraging for materials in the wilderness. One activity you are able to do is fishing. Fish is either used for cooking meals or sold for gold, which is needed to buy materials for your farm. When you fish, you occasionally pull up treasure, such as the Fish Fossil. Although the Fish Fossil can't be eaten, it is a valuable treasure.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to Taro's shipping center and give him a gift every day. Gifts that Taro likes include virtually all vegetables, wild grasses and well-cooked meals. Blend a Failed Dish, Hungerizer XL and Bodigizer Xl to create a special gift called Eli Leaves. Taro loves this gift.

    • 2

Continue giving gifts until Taro's Friendship Points reach 2,000. The next day after this occurs, Taro comes to your home and gives you the Fishing Pole.

    • 3

Wait until fall and head towards the dock or beach. The Fish Fossil is only found in the ocean.

    • 4

Face the ocean and tap the Fishing Pole icon in the tool slot area. Tap the icon again as soon as an exclamation mark shows up over your character's head. You will pull up a random fish or item. Continue fishing until a Fish Fossil is pulled from the water.
