Give Rock Cheese Fondue
Rock enjoys a number of items and foods, such as diamonds, cheese, curry dishes, bananas and juices. However, you can earn a lot more affection points by giving Rock cheese fondue, a dish you can make in your farm's kitchen. Each cheese fondue increases Rock's affection for your farmer by 800 affection points and nine friendship points, whereas other items he likes earn between 300 and 500 affection points and three to nine friendship points. The more points you earn, the sooner your farmer can marry Rock. You can give Rock cheese fondue once a day and he won't tire of it.
Change Your Famer's Clothes Every Day
In the process of courting Rock, you'll talk to him and give him gifts every day in order to raise his affection points and friend points. A cheat that you may not have considered to raise Rock's affection points is simply to change your farmer's clothing every day. Changing clothes in "Harvest Moon DS: Cute" is optional, but if you change your clothes and talk to Rock every day so he can see your new fashion, he'll gain 200 affection points each week.
Never Litter
You may not realize that your farmer's activities even when away from Rock can impact Rock's affection for your farmer. Littering is one such activity. Removing an item from your rucksack and leaving it lying around town -- or even on your own farm -- counts as littering. Throwing items in the water counts as littering as well. Rock's friendship points will decrease if you litter even once.
Give a Gift on His Birthday
Rock's birthday is Spring 9. If you give him a gift on his birthday, you'll earn bonus affection points and friendship points. The gift does not have to be one of his favorite items, such as cheese fondue. Any gift on his birthday will raise his affection. The one exception is a gift that Rock dislikes. Giving Rock "Elli Leaves" can decrease his affection points by 5,000 and his friendship points by 20.
