Unlock Rooms
Play as Mario and head into the room with the bookshelf. Use Fire Flower to float up into the room above. Pass through the painting of Luigi and beat Big Boo at the other side. You will now have the key to Luigi's Room.
Go to the room where Luigi's painting hangs in the second floor of the castle. The mirror reflection shows a painting of Wario instead, so use the flower that turns you invisible and walk through the mirror. Pass through Wario's painting, beat Chief Chilly and earn the key to Wario's Room. Go through the 8-Star door in the Rec Room and you will encounter a Goomboss. Defeat this enemy to receive the key to Mario's Room.
Extra Lives Slide
Go down the slide in the level "Cool Cool Mountain." As you approach the first tunnel, keep your eyes peeled for a row of five coins. Slide into the coin trail and you will pass straight through the wall. The secret passage contains three extra lives to collect.
Secret Teleporter
You can teleport from one location in the Bob-omb battlefield to a different one. Turn right after crossing the first slanted bridge and walk into the flower bed. Stand there and you will transport instantly to another flowerbed next to the mountain. This trick also works when reversing the destination.
Other Cheats
Play as Yoshi and locate a little square crate; you can find these in Hazy Maze Cave. Eat this object and Yoshi will lay a square-shaped egg.
Chase after and catch a white rabbit. Whoever you catch it with will receive extra mini-games for you to play in the Rec Room. So if you catch one of the hopping creatures with Luigi you unlock new games for him.
Refrain from jumping on wooden posts. Run around them instead, making three complete circles. Five coins will appear for you to collect.
