How to Grow Berries Fast in Pokemon Platinum

In Pokemon Platinum, berries are equally useful in and out of battle. You can use berries to increase your Pokemon's stats, or to create Poffins for contests. Unfortunately, all berries are one-use items--- once you use a berry, it is gone forever. If you want more berries, you're going to have to grow more. Some berries grow very fast, but others grow exceedingly slow. Fortunately, you can shorten the amount of time you wait by using mulch.

Instructions

Go on Serebii.net or Psypokes.com and look at their berry guides. Look for the type of berry that you want to grow and record the growth time for each stage, as well as the berry's function. For example, the Lum berry, which cures all status problems, advances by one stage every 12 hours.

Scan the list for a berry with a function that is similar to the berry that you want to grow. Look up its growth time and compare it with the berry that you want to plant. Choose the berry that has the shorter stage growth time. For example, if you want to use the Lum berry to cure paralysis, choose the Cheri berry instead, which cures paralysis and has a stage growth time of three hours.

Go to Route 208, which you can find to the left of Hearthome City. You should come across a house where a man and a woman reside. Talk to the woman, and she should offer you some mulch. Buy the growth mulch for 200 PokeDollars. This mulch will increase berry growth by 75 percent.

Stand in front of an empty plot of soil and pick the berry that you want to plant. Water the plant and apply the growth mulch onto the soil. If the berry normally advances one stage in 12 hours, it will now advance one stage in only three hours. Come back to water the plant at least once per stage.
