How to Get Arceus Event Giratina in Pokemon HeartGold

"Pokemon HeartGold" and "Pokemon SoulSilver" support trades from other 5th-generation Pokemon games. These Pokemon can sometimes trigger special events. A special event can be triggered by transferring an Arceus from "Pokemon Diamond," "Pearl" or "Platinum." This event will grant you the option of choosing from one of three legendary Pokemon, including a Giratina.

Instructions

  Open a trade between two Nintendo DS units, one with the old game and the other with the new. Transfer your Arceus to your SoulSilver or HeartGold game.

  Place Arceus in your party and visit the Ruins of Alph. You will have an interaction with your Arceus and be teleported to the Sinjoh Ruins.

  Enter the ruins and another event will occur. Depending on the method used to capture your Arceus, the leader of the Sinnoh Region Elite Four may be waiting for you inside the ruin. If she is not there, the event will proceed without her.

  You will be prompted to choose from either a Palkia, Dialga or a Giratina. Choose Giratina and Arceus will create it for you.
