How to Get the 13 Badge in HeartGold

In "Pokemon HeartGold" for the Nintendo DS, players have access to the entire Johto region of the original Game Boy Color game. Beating the Elite Four is only half the game, however, as afterwards the whole region of Kanto will be opened up for players to explore. This allows players to challenge new gym leaders in the region to increase their badge count. The 13th badge can by obtained by defeating Janine, the Fuchsia Gym leader.

Instructions

- 1
  Play through the Johto region of "Pokemon HeartGold" and obtain all eight gym badges. Defeat the Elite Four to get access to the Kanto region.

  Travel to the Kanto region and challenge the gym leaders. Defeat the gym leaders in Vermillion City, Saffron City, Celadon City and Cerulean City to bring your badge count up to 12 and allow you a shot at the 13th badge.

  Travel to Fuchsia Gym and challenge the gym leader, Janine. You will find her there any time other than 6-8 p.m., when she is out. Check the time on your DS clock to make sure you will find her there.

  Use psychic or rock-type Pokemon in battle against her. She uses poison-type Pokemon. Defeat her to receive badge number 13, the "Soul" badge.
