What Are the Easiest Ways to Get Bells in Animal Crossing: Wild World?

Life in "Animal Crossing: Wild World" may be relaxing, but it can't always be fun and games. Everything costs money in town, so you need to work to buy items and make payments on your house. In the game, money is called "bells." You can earn bells in many ways, some of which are easier than others. If you know how to earn money quickly, you'll be able to buy anything you want, no matter how expensive.
  1. Fruit Farming

    • The trees in your town bear fruit, but because these fruits are readily available locally, they are not worth much. You'll need to acquire foreign fruits, which are worth 500 bells each, if you want to earn lots of money. To get foreign fruit, you can visit a friend's town, or a friend can bring a piece of fruit to your town. Sometimes, villagers randomly offer you a piece of fruit. Plant the foreign fruit anywhere you like and wait for a tree to grow. Three fruits grow on each tree. Take these fruits and grow more trees. When you have enough fruit, take it to the store and sell it. Fruit grows back after a few days, so you can sell even more.

    Fishing

    • Buy a fishing rod from Tom Nook's store and head down to the ocean shore. When you see the silhouette of a fish in the water, toss your line in. Pull the line back when you hear a "plop" sound, which indicates the fish has taken the bait. When you have an inventory full of fish, take them to the store and sell them. If you are good at fishing, it can take about 10 minutes to get an inventory full of fish. If you go fishing at night when the store is closed, you can store the fish you catch in your house to make room for more in your inventory.

    Collecting

    • In the game, you may stumble across a dinosaur fossils buried in the dirt. Although you can donate them to the local museum, they are also worth thousands of bells. To find a fossil, look around on the ground for an area of cracked soil, take out your shovel and dig there. Fossils are readily available after it rains.

Bugs are also easy to find in the game, especially in the summer months. The type of bugs you can find changes depending on the season. To catch a bug, take out your net and swing at it. Some bugs, particularly the most valuable ones, run away quickly if you make too much noise around them.

    The Stalk Market

    • Every Sunday, Joan the boar comes to town selling turnips for around 100 bells each, although prices vary somewhat each time. Buy as many as you can afford. On Monday through Friday, check Tom Nook's store to see what price he is offering for turnips. The prices can fluctuate. If he offers you more per turnip than what you paid Joan, sell the lot to him. This strategy can earn thousands of bells for very little work. Don't wait until Saturday to sell the turnips, though. On Saturday, they spoil, and Tom Nook won't buy them.
