How to Catch Lugia in Pokémon: LeafGreen

Lugia is a legendary Pokémon that has the abilities of both Flying and Psychic-type monsters. This Pokémon is extremely rare, and you can capture it in only a few Pokémon games. Lugia is familiar to many Pokémon players, as its image is used for the box art of "Pokémon: Silver" and "Pokémon: SoulSilver." In order to catch Lugia in "Pokémon: LeafGreen," you will need the help of an out-of-game item.

  Attend a Nintendo special event. These occur both in physical locations, such as the Nintendo World store in New York City, and through specially organized online gatherings.

  Obtain a Mystic Ticket. This ticket is what is known as an "event item," and you can only obtain it if Nintendo happens to give it to players during an event. Nintendo will beam it directly to your DS through the in-store Wi-Fi or global connection.

  Visit the Seagallop Ferries on the Sevii Islands. Speak with the Sailor stationed near the ferries and use your Mystic Ticket to sail to Navel Rock.

  Enter the cave on Navel Rock to encounter Lugia. Once you have defeated it, you can capture it with a Poké Ball.
