How to Catch Heracross in Sapphire

"Pokemon Sapphire" was released in 2003 by Nintendo for the Gameboy Advance. Gamers play as Pokemon trainers and attempt to capture and train rare, powerful Pokemon to win battles against fellow trainers, gym leaders and wild Pokemon. Heracross is a rare, beetle-like Pokemon that can only be found in the Safari Zone.

Instructions

Heracross can only be found in the Safari Zone. To enter the Safari Zone, you must already have the Pokeblock Case. Go to Slateport City and travel to the north exit to find the Slateport Contest House. Talk to the little girl inside and she will give you the case.

Go to Fortree and begin walking down Route 121 toward Mt. Pyre. This should take you to the Hoenn Safari Zone. Pay 500 dollars for 30 Safari Balls and enter the park.

    • 3

Head to the northwestern area (note that a Mach bike is required to enter this area of the park). Once inside, head to a grassy area and walk through to make wild Pokemon appear. Run from any undesired Pokemon. It will probably take many Pokemon encounters before a Heracross appears.

To help increase your chances, keep an eye out for white boxes on the screen. The player can place a PokeBlock in these to increase the frequency of Pokemon encounters.

Once a Heracross appears, throw a Pokeblock to decrease the chance of it running away. The player can also "Go near" the Heracross. This increases the chance that the Pokemon will be caught, though it also increases the chance it will run away. Throw a Safari Ball to catch Heracross. Safari Balls are not as strong as other types of Pokeballs, so it may be necessary to throw more than one.
