How to Get Arceus in Pokémon Pearl

Arceus is a normal-type Legendary Pokémon who is the last Pokémon (number 493) in the National Pokédex. In the Pokémon television shows and video games, he is described as the creator of all mankind and Pokémon. To capture Arceus for yourself, you must have the Azure Flute -- a Mystery Gift that Nintendo gave out during a Pokémon Special Event, which took place at Toys R' Us stores in the US and Puerto Rico between November 7th and 15th, 2009. If you don't have the Azure Flute, you can only obtain Arceus by trading with another player who has him.

  Travel to Oreburgh City and head east onto Route 207. Enter Mt. Coronet and climb it until you reach the Spear Pillar, which is an area with pillars shaped like spears. You must have a Pokémon that knows Surf and Rock Climb in order to reach the Spear Pillar.

  Play the Azure Flute when prompted to by the onscreen message.

  Climb the staircase that appears after you play the Azure Flute. Save your game before you reach the top of the staircase, as you have only one chance at catching Arceus.

  Fight Arceus until his health is low enough to capture him. Arceus is a level 80 Pokémon, so be sure to fight him using high-level Pokémon -- ideally ones that have Adamant, Modest or Timid natures. Consider using a Master Ball to capture Arceus, as the strength of his attack is extremely high and he knows Recover, which replenishes lost hit points.
