How to Get a Mascot in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness

"Disgaea: Hour of Darkness" was released by Nippon Ichi Software on the Sony PlayStation 2 in 2003 and is the first game of the Disgaea series. The game features turn-based strategy role-playing with a host of characters and character classes. In 2008, "Disgaea: Hour of Darkness" was ported to the Nintendo DS handheld console and added several new features to the main game, including a multiplayer mode, randomly generated "Demon Gadget" items and several new characters that are unlocked through the Dark Assembly or by fulfilling certain requirements in the game. One of the new characters available is "Plenair," the character in charge of the Dark Assembly in "Hour of Darkness." Her unit class is "Mascot" and is commonly seen throughout other games in the Disgaea series as a stone-faced TV announcer.

Instructions

    • 1

Start the game in "New Game +" mode. "New Game +" mode is available after beating the game's main storyline. It starts the player from the beginning with all of the items, abilities and money earned from the first play-through. If you have the "Testament" item in your inventory when completing the game, you also have the option to start "New Game +" in "Etna" mode, which replaces the main character Laharl with Etna, changing the missions, cut-scenes and NPC conversations.

    • 2

Start a Dark Assembly dialogue by speaking to Plenair at the left side of the castle.

    • 3

Select the "blank" option in the Dark Assembly dialogue. It is the only selection without any text. A new dialogue will appear and Plenair will join the active party.
