How to Update Action Replay Cards

Action Replay cards can be used in Nintendo DS consoles to activate cheat codes and other hints. The card often needs to be upgraded to include the latest cheats for games that have recently been released. All Action Replay cards come with a USB cord and a CD that includes the Action Replay Code Manager PC software. This software automatically downloads new updates to easily install them on your Action Replay card.

Instructions

    • 1

Install the Action Replay Code Manager PC software from the CD that came with your Action Replay card. The software can be installed anywhere on the computer but the default file path is recommended.

    • 2

Set up the USB cord that came with your Action Replay card. The large end should plug into a computer's USB port, while the small end should plug straight into the Action Replay card. The computer will automatically detect the device and start downloading drivers, so the device will be functional after the drivers have finished installing.

    • 3

Start the Action Replay Code Manager software from the desktop or "Start Menu." Information about the attached Action Replay card will displayed in the window.

    • 4

Press "Software Update" in the top right corner to download any updates for the card. The added codes will be on the right side of the screen.

    • 5

Drag any codes you would like to update your Action Replay card with to the left side of the screen. The card will automatically organize the codes for you once they have been added. All you need to do is drop the codes in the folder of the game they are compatible with.

    • 6

Click the "Commit Changes" button to save the codes to your Action Replay card. The card will be updated once the changes have been made.
