How to Get Riolu to Evolve in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time

Riolu is a Fighting-type Pokémon exclusive to "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time." Under the right circumstances, Riolu can evolve into Lucario, which is much stronger than Riolu and can learn a few new moves. To get Riolu to evolve into Lucario, you will need to have already completed the game's final chapter (Chapter 10); you will also need to have at least one -- possibly several -- Deluxe Boxes, which you can find in dungeons and by completing them.

  Feed your Riolu until its IQ is at least 1.5 stars. Continually feeding your Pokémon can significantly and quickly increase its IQ. You can purchase food from the PokéMart or find it on the ground throughout the game's various locations.

  Navigate to Treasure Town. The owner of one of the town's businesses, Xatu Appraisal, can identify and unlock Deluxe Boxes.

  Go to Xatu Appraisal, which is located in the southwest corner of Treasure Town.

  Talk to Xatu, who is standing at the back of the store.

  Select any Deluxe Boxes you would like him to identify and open. It costs 150 Poké for each box, and the items inside them will be given to you immediately.

  Give Xatu Deluxe Boxes until he opens a box that contains a Sun Ribbon. You need the Sun Ribbon to evolve Riolu.

  Give the item to your Riolu. The Pokémon should automatically evolve to Lucario.
